Revive Comes to Michigan

LAPEER, MI – In October of 2021, the Rev. Canon Mark Eldredge, Director of Anglican Revitalization Ministries, traveled to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Lapeer, Michigan, a congregation in the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes. It’s a community of kind-hearted, hospitable, and faithful individuals with a passion for Jesus Christ and their city. Under the leadership of the Rev. Coleen Dewey, the church is committed to focusing their time, treasure, and talent on the specific unreached people group that they are called to serve. They want to better use their great downtown facility to extend the Kingdom of God. As they began thinking through how they would move forward in mission, the parish contacted Canon Mark about having a Revive weekend to help catalyze new health and growth. Revive is part of the AAC’s Anglican Revitalization Ministries and focuses on proven and practical resources to help Anglican congregations move towards the fullness of church life that God has for them.

Canon Mark said, “I am so excited about what God will do through St. Matthew’s. Building on their strong past, as they balance the vitals of church health, I am confident they will see their church revive and thrive.” As St. Matthew’s moves forward, Canon Mark will continue to walk alongside them in a coaching relationship as they work out the implications of their revived focus and strategy.
