So what does health look like?

Health looks like wholeness, with leaders and churches living, in a balanced way, the purposes for which they were created. Local churches are the hope of the world, and they’re only as effective as the leaders who lead it. We’re committed to resourcing healthy church leaders who lead healthy churches who in turn fulfill the Great Commission through a healthy province and Communion. We long to see leaders of local, regional, and national Anglican churches equipped to remaining faithful, courageous, and resilient to their biblical and apostolic roots and together fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission in the world.

what's essential to us?

a WORD from our president

The American Anglican Council (AAC) is a network of individuals, parishes, and ministries who affirm biblical authority and Christian orthodoxy within the Anglican Communion. For almost 30 years the AAC has promoted and defended Biblical Anglicanism in North America and around the world. The Anglican Communion is among the world’s largest Christian denominations with over 75 million active participants. Sadly, this great church has become unhealthy over the past century, threatened with false teachings regarding the authority of Holy Scripture, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the doctrine of marriage. This is reflected in the lack of spiritual health in its leaders and churches today. The Anglican Church of North America came together to help remedy this sickness, however, many Anglican churches and leaders are still in need of revitalization and renewal.

The AAC continues to come alongside the province to help resource healthy Anglicanism for the world today. We want these congregations to be fully functioning outposts of God’s Kingdom and are committed to partnering with local, diocesan, and provincial structures to meet these challenges by developing healthy leaders, equipping healthy churches, and always supporting good and healthy governance!

On our site you’ll be able to see what we do in each of these areas and keep up to date on what’s happening in this great reformation of the Anglican Communion. Are you in a congregation in need of fresh vision and revitalization? Are you a priest who could benefit from a coaching relationship with a fellow priest? Are you a diocesan leader in need of support and better governance? Feel free to email us if you have any questions, and please pray for our ministry here and for what God is doing in the Anglican Communion.

In Christ’s Service,

The Rev. Canon Phil Ashey
President, American Anglican Council

our history

The American Anglican Council (AAC) has supported biblical orthodoxy in Anglicanism for over twenty years and was there at every milestone in the Anglican Realignment. The timeline below shows each major step in this global realignment and where the AAC left its mark throughout this modern reformation. We invite you to explore it!
