Leadership and canonical consulting

In addition to providing canonical guidance for the work of the ACNA Provincial Constitution & Canons Committee, the American Anglican Council offers complimentary initial consultations for individuals, parishes, dioceses, and other Anglican leaders seeking counsel on canonical and governance matters.

The Rev. Canon Andrew Rowell provides counsel on matters including the review and interpretation of bylaws and canons, organizational governance, and other questions related to the orderly and effective leadership of churches and dioceses. Initial consultations are offered in 30-minute appointments at no charge and are intended to help identify the issues involved, provide initial guidance, and determine whether additional assistance may be helpful.

When a matter requires more extensive review, research, document preparation, or ongoing consultation, the AAC may provide additional services for a fee agreed upon in advance. Proceeds from these services directly support the AAC’s continuing work to promote and strengthen godly governance throughout the province.

Anglican Legal Society Logo_navy_RGB

Anglican legal society

As Chancellors (Anglican lawyers) of the Province, dioceses and local congregations, we share a special interest in the legal challenges facing the Church and its mission in today’s culture. We meet to discuss these challenges, share ideas, resources, and best practices and support and pray for each other. We gather annually at the Provincial meetings of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), and by video for continuing education, sharing of best practices, and fellowship. Our network is open to non-lawyers (e.g. Bishops, Canons to the Ordinary, and others) who share our interest in canon law and religious liberty.
