The American Anglican Council’s (AAC) mission is, “to build up and defend Great Commission Anglican churches in North America and worldwide through advocacy and counsel, leadership development and equipping the local church.” We can count this week as another one where we lived in to that mission. Nine rectors from South Carolina and one from Texas joined us for retreat and teaching (leadership development) at the AAC and Leaderwork’s Rector’s Summit for Vision and Planning (RSVP) just outside Asheville, NC.
We were blessed to hear the wisdom and insight of The Rev. Canon Dave Roseberry on practical skills for rectors, The Rev. Geoff Chapman on the pastor’s heart and character development and the Rev. Marc Robertson, who shared his own experience of leading a congregation through crisis.
As at every AAC training event, we had a team of prayer intercessors on site. Their constant prayer helped me, and I’m sure the others, sense The Holy Spirit’s presence throughout the teachings, small groups and conversations. These fantastic intercessors were also available to pray one-on-one with participants and what a ministry they had! I thank God for our dedicated prayer intercessory network. My prayer is that God continues to build up these 10 rectors, along with the 50+ other rectors we have already equipped through RSVP. Our mission to see Great Commission Anglicanism thriving in North America has been strengthened by leadership development programs like these. The Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) will be even stronger as we continue to provide ongoing leadership training for our clergy with future training opportunities.
As always, thank you to all who support the American Anglican Council with both prayer and financial support. We couldn’t accomplish this mission without you! Again, thank you.
